Join the Party: National Pepperoni Pizza Day in Atlanta | Crye-Leike Real Estate Services

Few things in life are more satisfying than a slice of pepperoni pizza—except maybe several slices. And since September 20th is National Pepperoni Pizza Day, there's no better time to indulge. If you want to gather your friends for a pizza party or just enjoy a slice in a party of one, our Atlanta, GA, real estate agents know all the best pizza places near Atlanta homes for sale. Here are our favorites.

  • Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria - 300 Marietta St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30313
Boasting the only coal-burning oven in the state, Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria makes pizzas with a crispy texture and a smoky flavor you can't get anywhere else. In addition to classic pepperoni, their toppings range from caramelized onions to confit garlic to feta cheese, and more served on a New York-style crust with their secret recipe tomato sauce. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., they don't take reservations, but they can be booked for private parties and catering.

  • Savage Pizza (Little Five Points) - 484 Moreland Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30307
If you like pizza and superheroes, you'll want to check out Savage Pizza. With comic posters on the wall and superhero action figures at the counter, you'll feel like your favorite masked hero might show up for a slice, especially since their pizza is pretty super, too. Build your own, starting with the size of 10" to 16". Then choose your crust (NY-style or gluten-free cauliflower), your sauce (red sauce, white sauce, pesto, BBQ sauce, and more), and your toppings: pepperoni, of course, as well as mushrooms, olives, Italian sausage, banana peppers, and a host of others. For dessert, try their incredible New York cheesecake or the Alons Midnight Cake, a triple-layer chocolate fudge cake with white chocolate mousse.

  • Humble Pie - 1115 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
If you want someplace a little fancier, Humble Pie uses fresh, seasonal ingredients, locally sourced for their chef-driven menu that makes pizza like you've never had it before. They put Fripper's artisan pepperoni on a three-day fermented dough, finished with garlic oil and fresh Parmesan. Also check out their Carnivore pizza, which includes that same pepperoni, plus bacon and braised short ribs. Then, finish it off with a scoop of brown butter ice cream or a slice of peanut butter pie.

  • Atlanta Pizza & Gyro - 1565 GA-138, Conyers, GA 30013
Serving up delicious pizzas for over 40 years, Atlanta Pizza & Gyro was originally part of the Athens Pizza House chain before establishing its own brand in 2004. Start with their golden brown, battered zucchini slices, then have a pepperoni or all-meat pizza with pepperoni, ham, sausage, salami, and Canadian bacon. And don't forget to try their beef and lamb gyros or deep-fried falafels. Closed Sundays, they're open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12–9 p.m. Saturdays.

  • Pielands Sub & Slice - 1021-1023 Virginia Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306
Heralded as one of Atlanta's best NY-style pizzerias, Pielands Sub & Slice is everything you could want in a classic pepperoni pizza. The crispy pepperoni curls up into little cups that are greasy and delicious. Or, if you prefer a thick crust, try the Piedmont Pep: a square, 16x16" pizza loaded with pepperoni on a beautifully chewy crust, finished with hot pepper oil. Whatever your pizza preference, Pielands is not to be missed.
